President Hastings! It's Ali Moore- now Alexis Treese, well it's been a year! Just wanted to let you know how much I love you and will never forget all that you have done for me and the great advice you gave me along the way. I am also so grateful for your son Ryan and also for Justin and the incredible examples they set for me. I know they were in my life for a very significant reason and it was by no accident. I needed peers to show me what it was like to be righteous members of the church. I think of all the people that helped me along the way, and wonder where I'd be without them. I especially thought that while being sealed to my husband in the temple. Well I know this is a novel but I wanted you to know what a special gift you gave me; simply by being an example, a mentor and by loving and believing in me.
I am the eldest of eight children, born of goodly parents; Loyal Hastings, all around great Dad, disciple of Christ, fun grandpa, career USAF pilot and my mom, Janice Mendenhall, descendant of Mormon pioneers, tireless mom, amazing cook, terrific grandma. Until I was 29, I never lived anywhere longer than three years. Since then I have lived for 25 years in the same house in Las Vegas. I just celebrated my 31st wedding anniversary with Michele Christensen, a true saint who daily lives what she believes. She also shows each day how much she loves me. We have raised six wonderful children. I am truly blessed by my wonderful family.
I have tried to serve the poor and indigent for 23 years as a Deputy Public Defender here in Las Vegas. I have had great service opportunities nonstop during my life within the Mormon church, starting at age 19 with a two year mission to Samoa. I have also enjoyed serving with youth in the Boy Scouts. Recently I enjoyed a two day, overnight reenactment of a Mormon Pioneer trek pulling handcarts with 200 teenagers. I look forward to retirement with my wife, serving a mission together wherever called, and enjoying some traveling and our family.
